Russian historian and expert in international relations, graduate of MGIMO (1979), and long-time researcher and deputy director of the Institute for US and Canadian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 2011 he headed the Russian International Affairs Council – a think tank established on the initiative of the authorities of the Russian Federation. An interview with him (January 2019; place not established) served in the master's thesis as a source for describing the role of the energy sector in Eurasian integration.
