The debate opening the second day brought together the perspectives of business, diplomacy and politics. Referring to the Polish Foreign Policy Strategy 2017–2021, Dariusz Lis asked how Polish business could be protected from collapse and warned that within a decade Poland could lose its competitive advantage based on low labour costs. Ambassador Jerzy Marek Nowakowski and Senator Jerzy Fedorowicz brought their experience of diplomatic posts and of parliament to the discussion of economic diplomacy. The debate ended on a moderately optimistic note: examples such as South Korea show that it is possible to move from weakness to strength.
