From 1991 he held senior positions in banking – among others as President of Polski Bank Inwestycyjny, a member of the management board of BIG Bank Gdański, the organiser of Millennium's retail banking division and Vice-President of HSBC Bank Polska; member of the “Team Europe” expert group at the European Commission. At GGM he discussed innovation in banking.
