01Situation

The starting point and the task

The goal was to create a recognisable, recurring expert conference on geopolitics and the international economy, combining high substantive quality with wide digital reach and professional marketing communication. The starting point: an author's blog and a student research club, with no institutional budget and no agency.

02Actions

Actions, step by step

6 steps in the order in which the project was built.

  1. The concept of the project and its communication positioning.

  2. Marketing and PR strategy

Honorary, media and substantive patronage; in 2019, the honorary patronage of the European Parliament.

  3. Digital campaigns (social media, content, newsletter) and pre-conference interviews: with Radosław Sikorski, Gen. Waldemar Skrzypczak and Dr Leszek Sykulski (2019) and with Gen. Stanisław Koziej (2021).

  4. Building a community around the event and coordinating speakers, partners and media, with tasks delegated to team members.

  5. End-to-end organisation

On-site editions at the University of Gdańsk in Gdańsk and Sopot, and a three-day online edition with 12 debates in three thematic blocks.

  6. Analysis of results and optimisation of communication activities.

05Lesson

“A conference is as much a media product as it is an event. I designed every edition for its life after the hall closed: the recording, the interview, the transcript and distribution. The most-watched debate, on military mobility on NATO's eastern flank, passed 63,000 views.”
