A think tank built from the ground up

New European Strategies

A Warsaw-based analytical foundation, entered in the National Court Register (KRS) on 19 September 2025. I built it as a system: a funding model, a CRM with 25,500+ contacts, a website built from scratch, a report production cycle, expert meeting formats and its own digital products.

01Situation

The starting point and the task

A think tank starts out without the capital of an institutional brand, without salaried staff and without the infrastructure on which analytical work depends: a relationship base, processes and distribution channels. The task was to build an organisation that would operate as an institution from its first month, not as a one-person project.

02Actions

Actions, step by step

7 steps in the order in which the project was built.

  1. Legal form and governance

A foundation entered in the KRS on 19 September 2025, a one-person management board and a five-member Foundation Council.

  2. Revenue model

A business plan, partner packages with priced benefits, subscriptions and patronage.

  3. The organisation's operating system

A knowledge hub in Confluence, processes, role KPIs, team rituals, a backlog and a report production cycle.

  4. Relationship base

A CRM with 25,500+ contacts and 9,500+ companies, segmentation, e-mail sequences and communication automation.

  5. Channels

A website built from scratch (content architecture, Core Web Vitals, E-E-A-T, UTM) and a social media strategy based on data about platform algorithms, with employee advocacy and measurement of formats.

  6. Formats

Closed-door meetings under the Chatham House Rule, conferences, podcasts, press releases and analytical projects.

  7. Products

Since February 2026, the foundation's own digital platforms, EuroChallenge Quiz and Merydian.

What was achieved

  • An organisation working with 100+ people, with a documented work system and division of roles.
  • A CRM with 25,500+ contacts and 9,500+ companies as the basis for partnerships and the distribution of analyses.
  • 1,700+ followers on LinkedIn and 350+ on Facebook.
  • Two digital products in production: EuroChallenge Quiz (browser and Google Play) and Merydian.
  • Continuity with Geopolityczna Gra Mocarstw: conference participants now sit on the Foundation Council and among the NES advisers.

05Lesson

“An institution is built from infrastructure. In my case, the relationship base, processes and distribution channels came before reach; only then does every analysis reach a reader who will put it to use.”

Igor Miasnikow
